Our coffee is characterized for being a beverage that has a clean taste, medium/high acidity and body, and a pronounced and complete aroma. This attributes are given thanks to the varieties of climate and types of soils that Colombia has, due to its geographical location and the morphology of its mountains, that allow to grow the proper species in an specific environment to obtain these qualities.
The variations of the temperature during the day and throughout the year favor the generation of compounds within the coffee beans, like sugars, that contribute to the development of attributes such as a medium/high acidity and a well balanced body during the process of roasting.
Other factor for the excellence of the Colombian Coffee is the rainfall regime. Colombia is located between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the Amazon and is crossed by three mountain ranges that forms valleys causing the existence of microclimates and favorable conditions for the cultivation of coffee at high altitudes where moderate temperatures are present year long, without extreme variations.
In summary, the climate of Colombia’s coffee growing regions is characterized by a high amount of rainfall, that avoid the use of artificial hydration, and the presence of marked rainy seasons that generate specific harvest seasons and consequently the availability of fresh coffee throughout the year.
